However, in 1909, he had a disagreement with his investors and left the company. He then created a new company called August Horch Automobilwerke GmbH, but he was sued by his former partners for using his own name. He had to change the name of his company, and he chose Audi, which is the Latin translation of Horch, meaning "to listen" or "to hear".
